Kevin and I both shot a six gold end at 30yds on different Wednesdays, but more impressive was Andy’s Six at 60 yds. They’re not all his arrows and best of 18 though!
Any other 6 gold ends let us know and take a picture.
Kevin shot the round above while taking part in the Piggy wig challenge along with Barry, Andre, Bruce, and myself. This was over 30yds, 40yds and a short distance for the pig or should I say boar. Certainly wasn’t boring (excuse the pun) and he pressed hard, just coming a very close second. When the clocks go back the fun stops.
Phil was on a separate line coaching, for an archer on the course who missed out on a Saturday.
After a false start on 22nd due to inclement weather, the GOA was rescheduled for 29th which started with a right royal downpour, but it soon cleared up.
The game was well attended with 18 competitors and Chris and Martin being creative with the scoring, although a few members couldn’t make it on the day and were sadly missed. In the William Tell duel above, steady as a rock Andy put 3 arrows in the tube, ‘should have played your Joker on that one Wolfger’. However, they did run out worthy winners on the day. After, we did have the usual BBQ and it was good to see Mike enjoying a chat with others. Once the clearing up was done a few stayed on for a drink and natter until Gordon ran off with all the burgers, oh no he didn’t. They went to a local cat rescue lady for her cats.
Thanks to all members for helping on the day, great to see everybody and hope you all enjoyed it. If you have some photos and want to share them with other archers, you can up-load them under member photos. There will be another GOA on August 19th so make sure you don’t miss out on the fun, Martin said he’ll bring the karaoke machine along next time.
