Before the club event we had a last hurrah for a Wednesday evening, where we all had a bash at 100 yds. Neil, Kevin and Jonah had never attempted it before, but it was a hoot.
Archers assembled on a sunny Sunday 3rd below to shoot National rounds from 30yds to 100yds.
It was a very warm day and the shooting was very hot too with some great scores being achieved. Our club’s members using various bows of choice. After, Gordon had ordered pizza and chicken legs which we all enjoyed along with the salami meats and grapes supplied by Meaning, Zani’s mum.
The AGM was held after and thanks for all those who attended. This was Nigel’s last time as treasurer, after handing over the baton to Ice after 9 years in the role. We quickly managed to get through a range of topics and the voting, and any points raised will be discussed by the committee at their next meeting.
Awards were given for the differing bow types and ages and some of the pictures are below, other pictures can be up-loaded onto the web site.
Andrew Small won the men’s barebow, James the recurve, Gaynor the ladies, Kieron the longbow, Maya and Zani junior golds. All results will no doubt be posted on the CMO web site, if I’ve missed any.
Andy Gartland won gold for the best handicap score which Martin and Chris diligently worked out. He’s relatively new to archery so well done.
Another fairly new member has offered to put on an archery tag event, where we shoot each other, not with normal arrows you’d be glad to hear. So let the committee know if you’d be interested. There is also the Atkins soup shoot coming up in October, and CMO had a good representation at last years competition. Look out for the entry form. The club is only in Epsom so not far to travel.
