3 Dozen Badges BG

Brand New Three Dozen Incentive

As many of you know, we run an incentive scheme called ‘The 252’. This is an award that is claimed if you score 252 or more with the first 36 arrows at the longest distance of an Imperial round.

What some of you may not know is that the score level of 252 is relevant to recurve bows, but not to other bow styles. For compound bows, 252 is too easy, for barebow it’s too hard and for longbow it’s practically impossible.

So, we are delighted to announce from the 1st April (no joke) the current 252 scheme will disappear and be replaced by the Three Dozen incentive.

Your current 252 badges will still be valid of course - you won them fair and square - but the new incentive will come with a brand new set of badges, designed by us and exclusive to CMO Bowmen, so that you can go through and collect a new set. They even interlock which will look extra-cool on your quiver.

The new incentive is designed to help you practice your shooting at different distances, is open to all archers of all ages and is a benchmark of how well you are grouping during longer rounds.

Here’s a handy table showing the score thresholds for the award for each bow style:

The Rules:

  • You must claim your award by marking it on your scoresheet. The Records Officer will not be specifically checking for you.
  • The award can be claimed on the first 3 dozen arrows shot at the longest distance of a standard Imperial round, except for the 20 yard badge which can be shot on its own. All rounds are shot on a 122cm target face.
  • You are allowed six sighters per normal rules of shooting.
  • The score only needs to be achieved once, before claiming a badge.
  • Badges must be claimed in order of distance from shortest to longest. For example you cannot claim your 30 yard badge until you have your 20 yard badge and so on.
